Ondo’s Secretary To State Govt Has Died

Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi, has died on Saturday, weeks after a car crash.

Oluwatuyi was said to have died in an Akure hospital where he had been receiving treatment for the injuries he sustained in the accident.

Announcing the SSG’s death on Saturday, in a statement, the State Government said Oluwatuyi had succumbed to the injuries he sustained in a car accident on 15 December 2024.

The accident occurred while he was travelling to Ibadan, and confined him to hospital for treatment.

In the statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba ‘Wale Akinlosotu, the government described Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant and an exemplary administrator who made significant contributions to the progress of Ondo State.

“Oluwatuyi’s unwavering commitment to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation left an indelible mark on Ondo State,” the statement read.

The late SSG was praised for his service in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and his two terms as Secretary to the State Government. His contributions to the state’s development were noted as invaluable.

The government also extended its condolences to the Oluwatuyi family of Akure, as well as his friends and associates, during this period of grief.
