DECEMBER 1st 2025.

OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT.

HIS EXCELLENCY BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR.

Your Excellency Sir,

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,

The Presidential Villa,

Abuja.

Subject: Appeal for Intervention on Unfair Exclusion of some FG Agencies from Pension increments incentives

Mr. President, Sir,

I write to bring to your attention a pressing concern that affects the welfare of retired civil servants who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation.

As a retiree from THE INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION, I am writing to express my deep concern about the exclusion of certain Departments and Agencies from benefitting the pension areas and increments for which  you approved the release of funds to Contributory Pensions Schemes (CPS) pensioners.

Your Excellency, your approval for the release of funds to settle accrued rights, increments, and consequential adjustments to pensioners from 2007 to 2024 was indeed a beacon of hope for many retired civil servants, who have been saddled with financial burdens, health challenges and family responsibilities and have been waiting patiently for these incentives and entitlements.

Sir, your commitment to prioritizing the welfare of senior citizens and promoting equity, justice, and dignity in retirement is very commendable and aligns with the values of our great nation and your RENEW HOPE AGENDA.

However, it is disheartening to note that  a letter sent to all Pension Fund Administrators, from the desk of the Director, ‘Contribution and Bond Redemption Department,’    ref: PenCom/TECH/CBRD/RBA/2025/932. Dated 28 November 2025. indicated that some Departments and Agencies, including mine, THE INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION, have been (unfairly)excluded from benefiting from these initiatives.

This exclusion has caused undue hardship and distress to every retiree from INEC who had endured so much  intimidation, threats and insults from politicians and political thugs , harassment from voters and at times even from security agents, while in service.

Sir, it is not an exaggeration to say that retired INEC staff had contributed immensely to fostering Democracy, Democratic governance and by extension the nation’s growth and development.

I humbly appeal to Your Excellency to be more compassionate and kindly intervene and ensure that all eligible retirees, regardless of their department or ministry, are treated fairly and equally.

The exclusion of certain groups undermines the principles of equity and justice, and I am certain and confident that your  leadership upholds these  values-equity and justice-scared .

Sir, this anomaly needs your kind intervention to be addressed.

I humbly appeal to you Sir, to kindly direct the relevant authorities to review the list of beneficiaries and ensure that all eligible retirees are included to benefit in the increments and other incentives as you benevolently and compassionately approved . This will go a long way in rekindling hope and restoring dignity to those who have served the nation with distinction and are now aged and burdened with health challenges and family responsibilities .

Thank you, Mr. President, for your attention to this matter.

We humbly look forward to a positive resolution.., pls.

May God Almighty Bless you Sir, and hold your hands in guidance amen.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS.

LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

Yours respectfully,

ABUBAKAR SADIQ IBRAHIM KT
