Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde has announced the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the New Chairman of Oyo State Council of Obas.
The Governor made the pronouncement at a brief event held at House of Chiefs, Agodi, Ibadan on Thursday, January 15.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade was absent at the event.
No official reason was given for his absence.
According to the Governor, the chairmanship will be rotational between the trio of Olubadan, Alaafin of Oyo and Soun of Ogbomoso-land with a period of two years each.
Makinde said the decision that Ladoka should take the chairmanship followed a meeting with the three kings.
