The Chairman, Aro and Partners Nigeria Limited, Aremo Saheed Arowolo, has debunked claims of Idolupana family’s ownership of a parcel of land at Ikese – Igbesa in the Ado – Odo / Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State belonging to him and Mr Waheed Nafiu, describing the claims as false, misleading and driven by ulterior motives.

Arowolo, who made these remarks at Ota, Ogun State on Monday, said he had never forcefully take land belonging to any individual or family in Ikese – Igbesa, saying that after series of meetings between him and the Idolupana family, the power of attorney over the land was handed over to him for administration after following due process in land transactions

The renowned Surveyor was responding to public statements by representatives of the Idolupana family who accused him of entering their land without authorisation.

According to Aremo Arowolo, the allegations were untrue, adding that many of the claims being circulated had been charged to an Igbesa Grade 11 Customary Court holden at Igbesa on December 12, 2023 and further appeal in the Customary Court of Appeal holden at Abeokuta on May 9, 2024, where both courts ruled that once the family (Idolupana) had willingly given the power of attorney to Messrs Arowolo and Nafiu on the said land, they no longer had claims over ownership of the land.

He noted that the Idolupana family’s flagrant disobedience to the two court judgements and execution of writ of possession on May 10, 2025 conferring ownership of the land on him and Mr. Nafiu undermines public confidence in judicial process, encourages lawlessness, impunity and equally threatens the safety and security of law – abiding citizens

” If anyone was dissatisfied with the earlier two court judgements that vindicated me, the courts are there for further appeals as this is the right place to resolve land disputes, not making inflammatory statements””, said Arowolo

According to him, two court judgements had been ruled on the said land in his favour and now wondered why the crisis without any appeal that nullified the judgements of the two courts that was approached by the family.

He noted that in spite of the different court judgements in his favour, the Idolupana family’s thugs had continued to harass residents, instigated attacks and seized the disputed land with impunity, thereby disturbing the peace and stability of the community.

Aremo Arowolo further claimed that the efforts of the Idolupana family to now lay claim to ownership of the land, which the power of attorney had been handed over him consequent upon series of meetings and agreement between him and the family was misleading, stressing that disagreement only ensued when he denied collaborating with the family to start re – selling part of the land that had already been legally acquired by some owners.

He called for an immediate investigation by the government and relevant security agencies into the activities of the Idolupana family and their alleged collaborators and ensure their arrest and prosecution for violating the sanctity of the nation’s judicial system.

Aremo Arowolo further stated that the power of attorney over the land and the two separate court judgements delivered in his favour clearly vindicated bim as the rightful owner of the land in dispute.

He dismissed the claims of the Idolupana family as the handwork of mischief makers among the family intent on creating discord in the community by disobeying the two separate court judgements and resorted to bringing thugs to the community, which had made some families to flee their homes and gone into hiding, living in fear for their livesA

Aremo Arowolo, who described himself as a peace – loving and law – abiding citizen, appealed for government urgent intervention in the matter and caution the Idolupana family to stop engaging in activities that may cause chaos and instability in the community.
