Atiku-Amaechi Govt Will Restore Nigerians’ Purchasing Power, Improve Living Standard, Vows ADC’s Owokoniran
ADC South-West chieftain, Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, has vowed that if voted into power, the government of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi would prioritise improving the living standard of ordinary Nigerians and rebuilding an economy to work for everyone.
Owokoniran said that drawing from the vast experience of the duo in leadership, public administration and governance, Atiku and Amaechi would bring the experience and leadership needed to address Nigeria’s economic challenges, ease the burden on households and create a more prosperous society.
He maintained that their leadership would focus on practical economic policies that restored purchasing power, improved workers’ welfare, expanded employment opportunities and made basic necessities affordable, particularly for low-income earners.
According to Owokoniran, key areas of the ADC candidates’ proposed leadership vision included:
- Improved Purchasing Power: Restoring the value of Nigerians’ earnings so that workers can comfortably meet their basic needs.
- Affordable Cost of Living: Taking practical steps to reduce the economic pressure caused by rising food, transportation, housing and healthcare costs.
- Better Wages and Workers’ Welfare: Promoting a wage structure that enables even the poorest workers to afford a decent standard of living.
- Job Creation: Expanding employment opportunities for graduates, young people, artisans and skilled professionals.
- Support for Small Businesses: Creating an enabling business environment where entrepreneurs can grow, invest and employ more Nigerians.
- Inclusive Economic Growth: Ensuring that the benefits of national economic development reach ordinary citizens, vulnerable communities and low-income households.
- Accountable Governance: Promoting transparency, responsible public spending and policies that deliver measurable improvements in people’s lives.
Owokoniran emphasised that governance must be measured by its impact on the people.
He expressed confidence that the combined leadership experience of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi would translate into policies that prioritised economic recovery, social welfare and national development.
“The ultimate goal is a Nigeria where salaries can sustain families, businesses can thrive, young people can find meaningful opportunities and every hardworking citizen can live with dignity,” Owokoniran said.
“Nigeria deserves leadership that transforms experience into results and governance into improved living conditions for all.”
