Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned the governors in the south east to be mindful of people’s lives in taking decision pertaining the issue of sit-at-home in their states.
Primate Ayodele gave the admonition in his church in Lagos, on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He said to stop sit-at-home is not by executive fiat but by taking a measured and calculated security plans to end it.
He added that to end sit-at-home by executive fiat, they must put enough security in place, and not to risk people’s lives.
Ayodele said, as things stand he has not seen convincing readiness to end sit-at-home.
He therefore called for caution.
He said, “The sit at home in the East on Monday, let Government provide enough security, otherwise, don’t waste lives, Government should be very cautious about this sit-at-home, if you are not ready to stop it, don’t put people’s lives in danger.
“It is not by exercising authority, it is by putting the right thing in order. I see that the sit at home can still cause problems, because I have not seen them ready for it to stop it,” he said.
