Katsina Gov’s Aide Seeking Election Named Leader Of Kidnapping Gang Police Dismantles
Police in Katsina State have paraded suspects linked to a kidnapping syndicate involving the abduction of an eight-year-old boy in the metropolis.
The mastermind of the syndicate has been identified as Nura Aliyu Garwa, former Senior Special Assistant SSA on Community Development to Katsina State Governor.
Officers said the gang operated with coordinated roles:
* Kidnapping
* Negotiation
* Movement
* Collection of ransom.
Garwa recently resigned to contest a seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly.
His alleged link to the case has triggered widespread reactions in Batsari LGA, especially given his political profile and recent public activities.
Police say the operation led to the recovery of part of the ransom and the arrest of multiple suspects, while investigations are still ongoing.
The development has raised serious questions about the depth of criminal infiltration and the credibility of people moving between political office and alleged violent crime networks in the state.
He became popular as the young man who trekked from Katsina to Kano to congratulate then Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for winning in 2019.
