Mixed Emotions As Kidnapped Pastor Is Freed After 5 Months With Wife, Daughter But Son Died
It is a tale of sadness and joy as a Kaduna cleric, Rev. Andrew Duniya, his wife, Mrs. Jemimah Andrew, and their daughter have regained freedom after five months in captivity, during which their son died.
Bandits invaded Gidan Ali community, Ikulu Chiefdom, Zango Kataf Local Government Area on Sunday 26th April, 2026, and abducted the family members.
The kidnappers allegedly demanded N270m ransom for their release.
However, the family’s return has been overshadowed by tragedy, as their son passed while in captivity.
A journalist confirmed the development on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 after paying a visit to the family at their residence.
The circumstances surrounding their release and the death of the dead son have not been disclosed.
