Primate Ayodele: Prolonged Insecurity, Bandits Impunity, Dent To Military, And Govt
Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, has decried the level of impunity exhibited by bandits in Nigeria, describing it as a slap and disgrace to the military.
Ayodele made this known while speaking at the international headquarters of his church on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
He said for bandits to come out openly to hand over the body of the Late General Abubakar Rabe to government officials in public glare was not only an affront to the military, but a disgrace to the nation.
The Prophet stated prophetically that if things were not checked very soon, lawmakers, politicians and big men would fall prey to the kidnappers firepower.
His words, “After killing a whole General, they now showcase it and hand over, I must say that the service area of the country needs to have a rethink.
“Is the government interested in these kidnappers as they are kidnapping Nigerians and killing Nigerians?
“I see no reason why those bandits will come, put him in a coffin, it is a shame to the security.
“If it is one Nigerian now, you will do giri-giri (be violent), if an ordinary Nigerian scratches an Army man’s car, one million soldiers will come and apprehend that person. Ordinary bandits are threatening our Army, they are even showing that you can’t do us anything.
“It shows that our security is worthless.
“The North is the problem of security in Nigeria, they are. The sitting Governor of the state is the first chief security officer, what are they doing?
“They carried him in the coffin, it raises thousands of question marks.
“And these children are still in the bush. What is the National Assembly still sitting for, to discuss what, what are they discussing, that is the question, discussing what?
“Now this is warning again. This state police they want to set up, honestly, they will mess it up. It will be used at the Governor’s whims and caprices, at their pleasure, and there is going to be a clash.
“Mark it, there is going to be a change in police uniform, all police uniforms.
“It is indeed a very big disgrace to our security agencies.
“It is only in Nigeria we see terrorists, bandits showing themselves on the internet with money, they collect, N50 million, where is Nigeria heading to? It is a big question. Where is Nigeria heading to?
“Question that cannot be answered, only God can help us to answer it.
“If they can carry our own General inside a coffin and somebody starts carrying it and says look at it oo, handing it over to the family, nobody was caught.
“That means those children will die in that bush, it is going to be more than three weeks or four weeks.
“They kidnapped Adelabu’s family, three days they find them, these are people that will vote for you.
“Do you now deserve the vote of Nigerians? All the politicians, from the President to the lawmakers, do you deserve Nigerian votes?
“Okay now you kidnapped somebody and put in detention, okay let me not use the word kidnapped, I am not referring to anybody, but I am not bothered, if you like say it is APC Pastor, APC Prophet, political Pastor, that is your own business. I stand on the truth.
“I is because you guys don’t understand the truth, they now put one person in detention, give him life imprisonment, when somebody who killed 720 people, you now give them Quran, and they swore with Quran that they have repented, ahh, we are not free, Nigeria is not free, and this government will not be able to save Nigeria from banditry, that is the end of the story.
“It will get to a stage, honourables, politicians, big men, they are going to kidnap them.
“Let’s wait till that time if you don’t find an answer to this now.”
