Senator Shehu Sani Identifies A Disturbing Common Factor In 15 Years Killing Of Northern Islamic Clerics; Says He Too Has Been Threatened

Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani has pointed out one common denominator in the targeted assassinations of Northern Muslim clerics, as he says, in the last 15 years.

Tweeting on the issue on X Twitter on Tuesday, October 27, Sani posted:

“All the prominent clerics that have been assassinated in the North in the last fifteen years have THREE common factors that undoubtedly led to their elimination; SPEAKING out against extremism, ADVOCATING for inter 1religious tolerance and peace and MENTIONING the name of terror leaders or groups by their name in their http://sermons.

“In 2011,Ex-President Obasanjo and myself privately went to Maiduguri to initiate a dialogue for peace, after the event we headed back to Abuja; the next day, the man who facilitated the dialogue was eliminated, and we received threats.

“The terrorists want silence or they will silence.”

The previous day, Monday, he had mourned Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masusuka who was killed at home in Dutsin Ma, Katsina State.

The Ansaru terrorist sect has since claimed responsibility for the killing.

Lamenting Masusuka’s killing, the Senator wrote:

“The assassination of the renowned Islamic Preacher, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masusuka at his residence in Dutsin Ma, Katsina State is condemnable, tragic and unfortunate.

“May his soul rest in Aljanna firdausi.Inna lillahi wainna Illayhir rajiun.”
