Arewa APC Forum Dumps Tinubu For 2027, States Reasons
The Arewa All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has announced the withdrawal of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection project in 2027.
A robust voice in the ruling APC from the North, the group charged Tinubu of running a regime laden with nepotism, incompetence, and corruption.
Announcing the decision In a statement dated April 17, 2026, the forum said its decision followed “extensive consultations and careful reflection” on the state of affairs at the Federal level.
According to the group’s statement signed by Chairman, Sallah Hakilu Kibiya, the forum could no longer, “in good conscience,” continue to support the current administration due to issues including nepotism, incompetence, and corruption.
“We believe that leadership must inspire confidence, uphold fairness, and demonstrate a sincere commitment to national unity, institutional integrity, and responsible governance,” the statement read. “Where such values are persistently undermined, silence becomes complicity.”
The forum further declared that its confidence in the current political direction has been withdrawn, and instructed its members to align with this position going forward.
