Popular Nigerian Disc Jockey, Florence Otedola, who goes by the stage name DJ Cuppy, has described 2023 as one of her worst years because of her inability to say turn down requests, including getting engaged to Ryan Taylor.
Cuppy and the YouTuber parted ways in July 2023, barely seven months after going public with their engagement in November 2022.
Taylor is known for his dangerous driving, videos of which he frequently shares on Instagram and YouTube.
He reconciled with his ex-girlfriend, Fiona, just a few weeks after he broke up with DJ Cuppy.
In a video showing her speaking at a public function recently, DJ Cuppy said she got burnt out in 2023 because she failed to say NO to a lot of opportunities, including agreeing to a relationship with her former fiancé.
In her words: ‘’One of the things I learned is saying No. I am gonna be honest with you guys, I had one of the worst years of my life last year because I did not say no.
“I didn’t say no to opportunities that I should have said no to.
“I didn’t say no to a fiance I should have said no to.
“I didn’t say no to taking things on.
“I was at the BBC, I had a morning breakfast show, then I was DJing.
“I was planning a wedding.
“Then I was at Oxford University. I burnt myself out.
“So, we have to deal with that guilt that comes with saying no. It’s okay to say no.”
