In a FACEBOOK posting, Bishop David Abioye, formerly of Winners Chapel, has corrected an impression that he makes demands or visitors.

Quoting the man of God, the posting said:

I heard somebody say, “If you want to go to see the man of God, make sure you carry something.” Don’t carry anything please. My spirit man reacted. My spirit man reacted. We are not here for merchandise. I didn’t come to ministry for what to eat and drink. Sermon Times. I came purely to serve him. Even if it’s only one dress, he will give me till I die. He said having therefore food, food, food – not foods – food and raiment. One dress, one dress. And I started with one dress. I started with one coat, with one tie, with white shoe not asking God, “what will you give me?”

One of our very close co-labourer Pastor Alex is here. He was reminding me while we were serving together of how that he was with me one day and somebody came and brought an envelope of money and said this is for the work of the ministry. He said he was watching me and I called the person in charge. Sermon Times. “Take note. This man said this is for the work of the ministry.” Ah ah! He said he was wondering why I didn’t take it. I’m not the work of the ministry. Am I right, sir? He’s here.

There is what is meant for the work. There is what is meant for me. And today I’m getting my own in abundance because I didn’t touch what is for His work.

Somebody sent some tens of Nigerian currency in millions to me some days back. My spirit tells me this is not for me. And I said, “Look, what is this meant for?” And he mentioned it. Immediately I said, “Take it there. Take it there.” Don’t let what is not for me block me from what is my own coming. Sermon Times. Do you know counterfeit will always come before the original? What is not your own will come face to face to you before your own will come. If you don’t know how to turn it down, you have turned off your own. I submit with humility before the Lord: I don’t touch what is not mine. I don’t.
