Boko Haram Killers Of My Dad Get ₦3m Payoff, Police Escort, Luxury Cars In The Name Of Repentance –Borno Man Cries
A pained Borno State indigene has alleged that repentant Boko Haram members are given ₦3 million and placed on a monthly salary after completing rehabilitation under government programmes.
Enoch Yohanna spoke up at a public event, expressing anger over what he described as the use of taxpayers’ money to support individuals formerly involved in insurgency activities.
“It has been so painful that the killers of my dad are being paid with taxpayers’ money. The abductors of our wives, our children and our sisters are being paid with taxpayers’ money.
“They drive luxury cars with escorts.
“There is one man that slaughtered 96 people a day, now he is driving Hilux. His name is Adamu.
“The business I am craving for is to start my terrorism. I am not going to terrorise anybody. I am going to fight back. I am saying this. I do not care. I am ready to die because what is the life?”
According to him, individuals who previously participated in insurgency were allegedly taken through a structured rehabilitation process before being reintegrated into society.
He claimed that the process involves categorising participants based on their level of involvement and exposure during the insurgency period.
He further alleged that some rehabilitated individuals were integrated into community security arrangements, while others got deployed for different assignments under government supervision.
In his words: “Boko haram are being rehabilitated, Now, what they do after rehabilitation, they fill form, ask them questions on how many people have they killed. If they kill 50, they have there are own class. If you have never killed, you stay there one month; if you kill small number, two months; if you kill many, six months. Which type of ammunition have you used?
“These are the people that are given payoff of N3 million and monthly salary of N50,000. I am revealing this. After being rehabilitated and cannot live without using guns, the government will provide gun for you as a civilian JTF. You all know they are here in Abuja. Most of them are repented Boko Haram. Some of them that cannot stay in the society, they are being exported to Algeria to go and do illegal gold mining in Algeria and be paid. If they sustained gunshot wounds, they are going to be transported back to Maiduguri and treated in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital through the government of Borno state.
“The civilian JTFs, go to Zamfara, they are there. The government of Zamfara is paying the government of Borno N70,000. The government of Borno is paying them N50,000, meaning it is a job. It is a business. It is not a crime to start a business if the business is being recognised by our government.”
