Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s (Yayi) stepmother, Alhaja Aminatu Abiola, has released a video to clarify that she was the one from Ekiti State, not the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in the 2027 elections, or his biological parents.
In a video released today, Friday, her statement sought to correct political narratives claiming she “exposed” his hidden ancestral links to Ekiti.
She confirmed that her husband, Yayi’s biological father (popularly known as Oteko), and his biological mother were indigenes of Ogun State.
According to Alhaja Aminatu Abiola, the family’s only tie to Ekiti State came through her own heritage as Yayi’s stepmother.
She stated that her video was made solely to clear up what she termed ongoing public misconceptions and false political propaganda regarding the Senator’s ancestry.
Senator Yayi recently issued a 24-hour ultimatum threatening defamation lawsuits against political rivals who claimed on national television that he was an indigene of Ekiti and that his parents were buried there.
Traditional authorities in Kemta, Ogun State, have also publicly backed the Senator, affirming his ancestral roots to their community.
