The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has suspended the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, over corruption allegations.
Ganduje, his wife and son are being investigated on various fraud allegations by the Kano State Government.
Addressing journalists on Monday, the Legal Adviser of the ward in Ganduje, Haladu Gwanjo, charged the former Kano Governor with gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds while in office.
Ganduje served two terms
as the Kano State Governor between 2015 and 2023
Gwanjo said that members resolved to suspend Ganduje’s membership after a vote of no confidence passed on him.
According to the Legal Adviser,, Ganduje was unable to clear his name from the various allegations of corruption, particularly the viral video where he was seen collecting bundles of what appeared to dollars from a contractor handing projects in the state..
APC members in Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Kano claimed that they were placing him on suspension as a card-carrying member.
According to them, the sanction was part of measures to distance themselves from the financial misappropriation committed by the ed-Governor and APC National.Chairman.
