BREAKING: Singer Portable Beaten By TikToker Carter Efe In N50m Celebrity Boxing Match
ZaZoo crooner, Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus, was Friday night defeated in the celebrity boxing match with social media streamer, Carter Efe.
The internet streamer outclassed the musician and erstwhile reigning celebrity champion in three rounds to win by unanimous decision at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
For winning the match, Carter Efe earned the N50 million ($36,000) prize money from Businessman, E Money.
All three judges scored the bout 27-30 in favour of Efe.
Portable had beaten Actor Charles Okocha, musician Speed Darlington and musician Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard Kelvin Power in previous bouts to claim three belts.
He had promised to add a fourth title at Efe’s expense.
In the opening round, Portable came out aggressively, throwing wild, erratic punches in his trademark style, but the taller Efe absorbed the pressure and countered with crisp uppercuts and body punches that troubled the singer’s smaller frame.
Portable’s approach did not change in the second round as he continued to throw wide shots and clinch repeatedly.
However, Efe landed solid combinations, and kept the momentum until the final bell.
