Osun State’s Governor Ademola Adeleke has clarified that of his two wives, Titilola, was the First Lady and would host the visiting wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On the eve of a state visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Osun today Tuesday, April 22, two different flyers from the Governor’s wives went round.
Flyers announcing Titi as host of the event made the rounds.
However, those of Adeleke’s second wife, Ngozi, referring to her as the First Lady of the state, similarly made the rounds on social media.
Both Titi and Ngozi’s flyers were designed to welcome Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Clarifying the situation, Spokesperson for the state Governor, Olawale Rasheed, said Titilola Adeleke would be the First Lady to receive Mrs. Tinubu during the visit.
According to him, the flyer circulating purportedly from the Office of Ngozi Adeleke was fake, and the person behind it had been arrested.
The statement read: “The attention of Mr Governor has been drawn to fake news in circulation about conflict over who among the Governor’s two wives is to host the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on her official visit to the State tomorrow.
“For clarification, Chief (Mrs) Titilola Adeleke, the First Lady of Osun State, is officially hosting the First Lady of the Republic tomorrow in line with the directive of Mr Governor. There is no confusion on this official position. The state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke is set to receive the First Lady and her team in Osun State.”
