Contrary to reports of a rejection of her candidacy, Zamfara State’s Governor Dauda Lawal has hosted Dr. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro, newly appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Federal Permanent Secretary representing the place.
Trouble reportedly broke out over the Yoruba spotted in her full name.
However, residents said the Keshinro appearing in her name was her husband’s name, who is Yoruba.
While congratulating Dr. Maryam at the reception, Lawal urged her to be a good ambassador for Zamfara State.
The Governor also pledged that the Zamfara State Government would provide her with all the support she needs, and they were proud of her achievements.
She is one of eight new Federal Permanent Secretaries the President approved to fill existing and impending vacancies of some states and geo-political zones in the top administrative cadre of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The new Federal Permanent Secretaries were appointed after a diligent selection process by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, according to a Friday June 28, 2024 statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity).

An online medium (not TheNewsGiant) had said that the Zamfara State Government rejected the new Federal Permanent Secretary (Keshinro Ismaila) appointed by Tinubu, claiming she was not an indigene and therefore could not legally represent the people of the place.
According to the medium, although the Zamfara State Government claimed Mrs. Ismaila was not from the state, it discovered she hailed from Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
It reported that both her grandparents were born to a popular Christian families in Tsafe town.
