The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has confirmed three persons dead following an accident in which a Dangote cement truck rammed into some vehicles in the suburban Epe area.
The Dangote truck (with vehicle number DCG-TM-028) suffered a brake failure while descending from Ita-Opo, Epe.
LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday by Taofiq Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA.
Bakare-Oki noted that the out-of-control vehicle collided with a tricycle (AGL 442 QC) and a stationary Toyota Camry at the Ayeyoro traffic light before veering into the Ayetoro Market Complex in Epe.
He said: “The unfortunate collision resulted in the fatalities of the tricycle driver and two students from Manpower Technical School. The deceased were respectfully transported to the Epe General Hospital mortuary.”
