The Delta State Government has announced the suspension of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Morals and Diaspora, Ms. Favour Obakoro.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, said Obakoro’s suspension was to enable security agencies to carry out a proper investigation on fraud allegations against her.
An activist, Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, had called the attention of the state government to the allegation tabled by people who claimed to be Obakoro’s victims of her using her position as a government official to fraudulently obtain money from members of the public.
According to the victims, she promised them that her company offered a reliable investment opportunity, assuring them that they would receive a refund if their investment failed.
Upon her failure to deliver on the promise, Obakoro allegedly threatened her victims who asked for the investment seed to be refunded.
