Kaduna State’s former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has described the current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s as the worst administration Nigeria has ever known.

EL-RUFAI:

Nigerians are tired of the APC, we know that. We have polled that, there is a 91% disapproval of this administration across the country. It is the worst in Nigerian history, but Nigerians are looking for credible options. They want to see people coming together, putting aside their differences and ambitions and giving them alternatives to this failure of a Government.

INTERVIEWER CHARLES ANIAGOLU:

But that’s the key thing, can you put aside your personal ambition. You’ve got yourself, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi and so many political bigwigs with huge personal ambitions.

EL-RUFAI:

Big names do not equate ambitions. You have mentioned my name, I have no ambition. I just feel that having contributed to bringing about this tragedy to Nigeria by contributing to the emergence of Bola Tinubu as President, I should contribute in my last lap, I am 65, I should be retiring. In my last lap, let me contribute towards removing this evil I believe will destroy Nigeria if left unchecked.

If there is one thing I was sure President Tinubu will get right is to have a competent team. His cabinet is a joke, the largest in Nigeria’s history. Maybe there are only five ministers that can be called Ministers in my time, 20 years prior. Who is the Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in this cabinet. Who is the Oby Ezekwesili?

INTERVIEWER CHARLES ANIAGOLU:

Doesn’t your anger come from your being dropped as a Minister?

EL-RUFAI:

Anytime I wake up and see President Tinubu and his team inflicting pains on Nigerians and bungle the simplest things in Governance, things I knew even as DG of BPE,, these guys can’t just get it right, I thank God, I am a lucky person. I thank God for saving me from the embarrassment of explaining to be part of this disaster.
