Former Governor Dies In Saudi Arabia

Yobe State’s first and former Governor Bukar Abba Ibrahim has died.

The former Senator died in Saudi Arabia after a protracted illness.

He was 75.

After spending two terms as Governor, Ibrahim was elected to represent Yobe East District in the Senate.

Bukar Abba Ibrahim October 1950 and was the Governor of Yobe State from 29th May 1999 to 29th May 2007, as a member of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP).

In the aborted Third Republic, he previously served as the first Governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993.

Ibrahim.died while undertaking medical care in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has confirmed the death of the former Senator representing Yobe East District.

Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, revealed that the former Governor would be buried in Saudi Arabia.
