Full List Of 65 Items Exempted From VAT

The Federal Government has listed some 63 items for exemption from Value-Added Tax (VAT), a move aimed at boosting the economy.

Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, revealed the move in a statement posted on X on Friday, in what he credited to the ‘Value Added Tax (Modification) Order, 2024,’ of September 3, 2024.

In the official gazette, effective from October 1, 2023, the exempted items include:

1. Automotive gas oil
2. Bio-ethanol refinery equipment
3. Biofuel-related Chemicals, Enzymes and Reagents
4. Biogas Compressor
5. Biogas Digester
6. Blending skid/unit
7. Chromatography unit (GC)
8. CNG Cascades
9. CNG Cylinders
10. CNG Dispensers
11. CNG Pumps and Compressors (all types)
12. CNG truck heads
13. CNG Trucks (Bobtails and Bridgers; fixed axle and semi-trailers
14. CNG, LPG and Cyrogenic Hoses Tubes, pipes and hoses, and fittings thereof (for example, joints, elbows, flanges) of plastics.
15. CNG/LPG Dual Fuel Vehicles
16. Compressed Natural Gas
17. Cylinder refurbishment equipment
18. Cyrogenic Storage Tanks, Liquefied CNG Conversion tanks
19. Dedicated LPG Vehicles and CNG/LPG Dual Fuel Vehicles
20. De-sulphurization units
21. Dispensing equipment (dispensing scales, nozzles, gas filling systems)
