Group Funds ₦45m ADC Presidential Nomination Form For Ex-Gov El-Rufai
A support group says it successfully raised ₦45 million and ₦750,000 within four hours to buy the expression of interest and presidential nomination forms for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to contest the 2027 election on the platform of the opposition African Democratic Congress ADC.
The gesture potentially pitches the former Kaduna State Goveror against the likes of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor Rotimi Amaechi who have also picked and will face the primaries.
The group described the development as a major show of support and unity from El-Rufai’s supporters, saying the fundraising was not just about money, but also a sign of how strongly people have embraced his political movement.
A statement by the group said on Friday: “This is a voice from thousands of supporters saying with one heart: Mallam, we are with you.”
The group also thanked everyone who contributed, stating that the support shows El-Rufai’s political movement continues to gain acceptance across the country.
“The Movement is Rising,” the statement said, emphasising that history continues to be shaped by the people.
