Horror! Kidnapped Oyo Teacher Beheaded By Terrorists

Michael Oyedokun, one of the kidnapped teachers of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has been killed by beheading by the terrorists who captured them.

A video released by the captors on Sunday, May 17, 2026, captured the gunmen beheading Oyedokun.

The gunmen invaded the school on Friday May 15 and abducted the principal, alongside other teachers and several students.

The attack, which happened some weeks after a failed kidnap attempt that left one traveler dead along Ibadan-Ijebu road, has renewed concerns over rising insecurity in parts of Oyo State and across Nigeria.

The horror video has thrown the community into mourning as residents, families of the victims and native continue to call on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify rescue operations to secure the release of those still in captivity before being killed.

The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command, had disclosed that two people, including a classroom teacher and an Okada rider, were killed when the gunmen attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School and L.A Primary School, Esiele in Oriire local government area of Oyo state on Friday.

The school principal, Vice- principal, one other staff and an unspecified number of pupils were abducted during the attacks on schools in the Ogbomoso community.

The okada rider was reportedly shot dead for resisting the forceful takeover of his bike by the assailants.

The attackers also took away a Toyota Corolla vehicle belonging to the abducted Vice Principal and later set the vehicle ablaze along the road leading to the forest.

The disturbing video allegedly released by the kidnappers on Sunday showed Oyedokun being killed, sparking outrage and fear over the safety of the remaining victims still in captivity.

The incident has heightened concerns over growing insecurity and attacks on schools in parts of Nigeria, especially following recent abduction attempts along the Ibadan-Ijebu road corridor.

Residents of the affected community, families of the victims and concerned citizens have continued to urge security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify rescue efforts and secure the safe release of those still being held.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not officially confirmed the killing.
