I Told My Husband To Bring In The Daughter He Had Before We Met, Little Did I Know What I Was Getting Us Into

“I have a daughter,” said my then fiancé, now my husband. “But I don’t know where she is right now.”

This was a conversation I heard during our courtship. I simply said, “Okay.”

Then, a few years into our marriage, the Holy Spirit said to me, “Go and bring her.”

I told my husband, “It is time for us to bring her home. It is time for us to blend her with our children.”

At that time, we had just one child, and the search began.

Little did I know that I wasn’t just searching for my husband’s daughter.

I was searching for my friend.
I was searching for my best friend.
I was searching for my support system.
I was searching for someone I could genuinely rely on.

If there is one person I know who is genuinely connected to Vida, it is Blessing.

A few years down the line, we found her and brought her home, and the rest, as they say, is history.

A child who honours me to the point where even when she isn’t around and I’m sad, she feels it.

She will call me, “Momsy, there’s something I’m feeling. Are you okay?”

Sometimes I will try to wave it off, but she knows. She always knows when her mother isn’t okay.

A child who supports me.
A child who will even get angry with her father on my behalf.
A child who watches over me.
A child who takes care of me.

My friend. My daughter. My blessing.

God gave me a daughter who I can confide in, laugh with, lean on and simply be myself around.

Today, I am so proud of you.

If there is one assignment I believe God gave me and I can boldly say, “I did it, and I delivered perfectly,” it is you.

And looking at you, I understand why I call you my Blessing.

You don’t know why I call you that.

But sometimes I think the reason God brought me into your father’s life was because He wanted me to be part of your life.

He wanted me to have an amazing daughter.

He wanted me to know that a mother can also be pampered. ❤️

Today, I am honestly lost for words.

I have called you.
I have prayed for you.
I have watched you grow.

And I want you to know this:

The grace you are seeing now is only the beginning.
The favour you are experiencing now is small compared to what God is preparing for you.

God has already shown me, in a vision, a glimpse of who you are and what you will become.

So, my daughter, go and succeed.

Go and become everything God has ordained you to be.

Go and shine.

Go and make us proud.

And never forget that there is a mother here who loves you deeply, believes in you completely, and will always pray for you.

Happy birthday, my Blessing. ❤️

My daughter.
My friend.
My answered prayer.

I am so proud of you.

Love,
Momsy ❤️
