An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has sentenced Lagos-based Bishop Oluwafeyiropo Daniels to life imprisonment for raping his unnamed 23-year-old employee.
Justice Rahman Oshodi also sentenced Daniels, the Bishop of I Reign Christian Ministry, Lagos, to three years in prison for sexually assaulting another 19-year-old member of the church.
The Judge ordered Oluwafeyiropo Daniels to serve his life sentence should at the Kirikiri custodial facility, Lagos.
Dismissing Daniels as a liar who lacked regard for the truth, Justice Oshodi held that prosecution established the ingredients of the two offences
The Judge, however, discharged and acquitted him on count two of the charge, which is rape of another member of the church (name withheld).
Oshodi held that the defence successfully established consent from that particular female church member.
Daniels was also discharged and acquitted on Count Four of the charge, attempted rape of another member of the church.
