It was a terrible and sad moment for the people of Ketu-Epe, LAgos, as a group of landgrabbers attacked the community with several dangerous weapons.
According to the eye witness account, the community was attacked yesterday around 8pm. The people were injured and their various belongings were carted away by the landgrabbers.
The sad event occurred at the opposite filling station, palace road Rallas street. The eye witness simply known as Mutiu Ekinsanya said the land grabbers have been terrorizing the community over three weeks and the hoodlums were used to cause chaos by one man who is contesting for the stool of kabieesi in Ketu-Epe.
He said the hoodlums invaded the community with several dangerous weapons and descended on people with cutlass and other offensive weapons. Ekinsakin said further that the attackers were aided by the police who teargas people.
Another eyewitness, Idris Isiaka said that the landgrabbers were brought to the community from Ejirin, Ayalu, Isekupa all in Ketu- Epe axis.
However, the community appealed to the police to come to their aid as their minds are not at rest again due to the constant attack by the hoodlums. He saidThose who sustained critical injury have moved to hospital for immediate medical attention. He also said the matter has been reported to the police.
You will recall that, the rightful candidate for the stool Prince Babjide Adekoya Adewofora earlier alerted the police on the constant attack by the landgrabbers.
The people however, appealed to the L:agos state commissioner of police and Inspector General of police to come to their aid because their lives and properties are not safe again. ‘We are appealing to the police to assist us, we can no longer sleep with both of our eyes closed, we are being attacked because we resisted their sponsor to be our next oba’.
