Man Shot Dead While Testing Bulletproof Charm

A 19-year-old “native doctor,” Timothy Dauda, has been arrested for shooting dead his client, Alex Ezekiel, while testing a bulletproof charm at Onumu Community, in the Àkókò-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

Dauda had prepared a supposed bulletproof charm, which he proceeded to test on Ezekiel by firing a gun at him.

The shot rang out and Ezekiel fell down dead in a pool of blood.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Moses Joel Yamu, said that the suspect specialised in preparing charms against guns and cutlasses.

Yamu said: “The victim, Alex Ezekiel, approached the suspect and requested the bulletproof charm.

“One Alex Ezekiel ‘m’ now deceased, went to the “native doctor” to get the charms prepared for him. After preparing the charms, the native doctor tried to test the efficacy of the charm by shooting the deceased with a gun.

“Unfortunately, the deceased sustained fatal injuries, was rushed to Ifejola Hospital, Igarra, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.”
