My Dad Can’t Beat Tinubu In 2027, Says Atiku’s Son In Defection Declaration

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s son, Abba Atiku, has defected from the opposition to Nigeria’s ruling party and submitted that neither his father nor any politician could defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.

Adamu Atiku, first son of the former Vice President, was of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and is a Commissioner for Works and Energy Development in the cabinet of the Governor of Adamawa State.

The former Vice President is aspiring to contest the presidency on the platform of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).

However, the younger Atiku dismissed the possibility of Tinubu losing to any politician or party in the next elections of 2027.

“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock come 2027,” Abba said.

“Nigerians have seen his good work; he is not a tribalist, and he doesn’t make appointments based on religion or region, but his decisions are purely on merit.”

Abba, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke in Yola, the capital of Adamawa, on Monday after his formal declaration and registration as a member at Gwadabawa ward in Yola North LGA.

Speaking on his decision to join the ruling APC, he said it was driven by a desire to contribute to the “far-reaching” economic and human development reforms under the current administration.

Abba said he was encouraged by widespread infrastructural growth and human capital development under Tinubu’s leadership.

“The president needs your support to continue with the good work. We should mobilise more people and go beyond party affiliations to support our president,” he added.
