The naira continued its slide against the dollar on the foreign exchange market on Monday.
Nigeria’s currency further weakened by N2.11 to N1,611.40 per dollar on Monday from last week’s closing rate of N1,609.29.
Its condition was even worse at the black market, where it dropped by N5 to N1,600 on Monday from N1,595 traded last week.
The Central Bank of Nigeria had sold $148 million to 29 authorised bureau de change dealers last week, bringing the amount in the last two weeks to $254.5 million.
