New Nigerian Ambassador To US Kayode Are Presents Credentials To Donald Trump
Colonel Kayode Are (Rtd), Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, on Thursday presented his Letter of Credence to U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, formally beginning his tenure as Nigeria’s top envoy in Washington, D.C
Are was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on January 22, 2026, as part of Nigeria’s diplomatic postings.
The credential presentation ceremony, attended by senior officials from both countries, marked a key step in strengthening diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the United States.
The ambassador also attracted attention with his traditional Nigerian attire, which was widely praised as a reflection of the country’s cultural heritage and identity.
