My fellow Nigerians,
There has been a lot of talk recently about whether President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should run again in 2027. Some argue that the pain we are experiencing means the reforms have failed. But here is the truth nobody wants to say plainly:

👉 Nigeria is not suffering because reforms started. Nigeria is suffering because reforms were delayed for decades. For many years, past governments avoided difficult decisions like:
🔹 Removing the fuel subsidy
🔹 Ending multiple exchange rate abuses
🔹 Restructuring public finances
🔹 Redirecting oil earnings to development
🔹 Reducing dependence on borrowing
Everyone knew these issues were destroying the country but no one touched them because they came with political consequences.
Tinubu took that step.
And like any major surgery, the healing pain comes before recovery. No country in the world fixed deep economic damage in one year not India, not Ghana, not Indonesia, not even the UK after Thatcher reforms. Structural reforms take time to stabilize before they begin to show results.
🔥 The worst mistake Nigeria can make now is to stop halfway and restart again. That is why continuity is not about politics it is about protecting the reforms so Nigeria does not fall back into debt, subsidy traps, and economic deception.
Yes, Nigerians deserve relief.
Yes, government must improve communication, delivery, and social cushioning. But abandoning the foundation now will take us back to square one or even worse.
We must stay the course.
Not because everything is perfect but because for the first time in a long time, Nigeria is fixing the root, not the symptoms. History will not remember who shouted the loudest. It will remember who had the courage to finish the work.
🇳🇬 This transformation must continue not restart.
