Nigerian Iragbiji Varsity Deputy VC Adetunji Shines With Double Distinction In Africa Research Ranking
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji (FUADSI) in Osun State, Professor Charles Oluwaseun Adetunji, has been named No. 1 in Agricultural and Biological Sciences in Africa
in the latest Africa-wide research rankings.
He was picked among the Top 500 authors by scholarly output for the period 2022–2026.
A statement from the Information and Public Relations Unit of
FUADSI said in the Agricultural and Biological Sciences category, he recorded 302 scholarly outputs, 1,059 citations, with his most recent publication in 2026.
The FUADSI Deputy VC also secured an impressive No. 2 position across all fields in Africa, among the Top 500 authors ranked by scholarly output over the same 2022–2026 period.
In the all-fields ranking, Adetunji recorded 599 scholarly outputs, 6,983 citations, with his most recent publication also recorded in 2026.
The latest recognition adds to Adetunji’s growing record of research distinctions and further highlights his sustained contribution to knowledge production across disciplinary boundaries.
The University described the achievement as a significant reflection of its growing research visibility and the quality of scholarship being produced by members of its academic community.
According to the University, the distinction is particularly noteworthy given the relatively young status of FUADSI and its commitment to building a strong research culture that contributes to local, national and global development.
