Today in Ibadan, as we celebrated the coronation of my brother, friend, and ally, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, I was reminded once again that history rewards perseverance, resilience, and service to community.
I congratulate Kabiyesi on this historic ascension to the throne of his forefathers and pray for his reign to be long, prosperous, and impactful.
As we honour our traditions, we also reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger economy and a more secure, united, and hopeful Nigeria. The journey of reform has not been without its tests, but together we have turned the corner, and there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel.
May the reign of Oba Ladoja bring peace, progress, and pride to Ibadanland, Oyo State, and our beloved country, Nigeria.

I congratulate my brother and compatriot, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa I on his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan.
I acknowledge that the ancient city of Ibadan has been a signpost of republicanism in traditional leadership and that the emergence of Oba Ladoja at this moment exudes the beauty of Ibadan’s history.
I am confident that Oba Ladoja would bring his wealth of experience as a businessman, politician, and seasoned administrator into his new role as the Olubadan.
I believe that the city is lucky to have a man of diverse worldview like him as king. I have no doubt that just like his tenure as governor created the template for the development of modern Oyo State, Oba Ladoja will create an impact as Olubadan that every son and daughter of Ibadan, and friends of the ancient city like me, would be proud of.
I join other friends and associates of Oba Ladoja to congratulate the good people of Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole to welcome the dawn of a new and glorious era of Oba Ladoja’s reign.

The enthronement of Oba Ladoja, a distinguished statesman with vast experience in business, politics, and governance, symbolises the enduring harmony between tradition and modernity in our society.
As Governor of Oyo State, Oba Ladoja played a vital role in shaping the growth and development of Ibadan. I am confident that the same spirit of vision, dedication, and service that defined his public leadership will now find fuller expression in his new role as custodian of Ibadan’s rich cultural and traditional heritage.
