When people make the argument for development in Lagos and what the current president did as governor, I laugh; they probably forget that Lagos was the former capital of Nigeria and it also has ports.
Lagos got an early historical upstart, it was also a British crown colony-Hence it got a lot of developmental attention— for instance, the Lagos Island and Ikoyi was largely reclaimed by the British already and Victoria Island early development potential had been itemized, Carter bridge was built by them and as at 1902 Lagos already had a tramway.
Lagos steam tramway was a passenger and sanitary tramway that carried cargo and passengers within Lagos Colony.
The tram was an important public transit system connecting travelers and merchandise from Ibadan and Abeokuta via the railway terminus at Iddo, mainland Lagos to Port of Lagos. The system ran from 1902 to 1933.
Some people just talk like Lagos was Tohu wa-bohu before 1999– 2007. It’s delusional!
