A Kenyan woman, Roselyn Ashanti Mchuna, suffered a brain damage after she was allegedly poisoned at her birthday party.
The entrepreneur was reportedly doing well in business, running a chain of Airbnb establishments in several towns.
On February 14, 2026, she brought together friends and loved ones for her lavish party held in Mombasa.
The memorable birthday party took a tragic turn when she collapsed during the event and was rushed to hospital.
According to an account shared about her ordeal by one Simon Mwangi Muthiora, a medical diagnosis indicated that she had consumed a poisonous substance at the party.
Her condition was reportedly so severe that she suffered 50% brain damage and spent months in the ICU.
Her family subsequently reported the matter to the authorities as an alleged attempted murder, hoping that investigations would establish what happened to her.
However, the family claims that despite reporting the incident, no one was summoned or arrested in connection with the matter.
The allegation has not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether toxicology findings or other investigative evidence established poisoning as the cause of Roselyn’s condition.
Roselyn’s condition was reportedly so severe that she spent months in the intensive care unit (ICU).
