Primate Ayodele Urges S/Sudan President To Free Political Detainees To Avert Coup, Civil Unrest

Primate Elijah Ayodele, Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Nigeria, has urged the president of South Sudan to release all political detainees.

Primate Ayodele was speaking at his church in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He said the president must prepare for unexpected event because the only thing he can do is to release all political detainees.

Primate Ayodele revealed that if the president refused to release the detainees, calamities would befall South Sudan and he would end up shooting himself on the leg.

He said people like former Vice President, Dr Benjamin Bol Mel, Colonel Joe Lotua, Tim Nderitu, and others should be released with immediate effect.

He warned the President against coup or civil unrest and should be proactive in tackling the issues in South Sudan.

He said, “South Sudan, the President of South Sudan must prepare for unexpected event, because the only thing he can do now is to release all political detainees.

“If he does not release them, calamities will befall South Sudan and the man himself will shoot himself on the leg.

“He should release the detainees otherwise they will express external aggression and there will be coup or civil unrest, so he has to do something urgently on this.”
