Terrorists Bandits Kidnap Yoruba-Christian King, Subjects In Kwara
Terrorists have invaded Igbesi, a community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, and kidnapped its monarch, the Onigbesi of Igbesi Land, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, and several others.
Oba Iwedunmoye is of the Okun Yoruba stock in Kwara State, as well as a Christian.
The attack occurred around 11pm on Saturday when armed terrorists stormed the community and launched a fierce assault on the residents.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the abduction, with the Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekemi, stating that security teams were working hard to rescue the abducted monarch.
According to Adekemi, rescue operations were going on to locate and free the traditional ruler safely.
“Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi Land has been kidnapped by armed bandits and whisked away to an unknown bush,” one source said.
Eyewitnesses narrated that the attackers stormed the community on Saturday and carried out the operation before fleeing with the monarch and other abducted victims.
“Bandits stormed the community yesterday (Saturday) in a fierce attack and successfully laid hands on the monarch,” the source said.
Igbesi is a community within Oke Onigbin town in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara South.
