Terrorists’ Landmines Kill 8 Bus Passengers Outside Maiduguri

No fewer than eight passengers have died, with others sustaining injuries, when two commercial vehicles drove over landmines along Ngala-Dikwa road in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

The incident occurred around 10:30am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, around Kinewba village in Ngala

The landmines exploded about 15 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Security sources in Maiduguri disclosed that the two vehicles involved in the incident were damaged beyond repairs.

“The vehicles left Ngala around 900:am while the incident occurred about 15 kilometres away. Eight civilians feared dead including two children, and several others were critically wounded in the landmines blast,” he said.

A top civilian JTF source said the two vehicles, an Izuzu van and a lorry, stepped on the bomb and nearly all the passengers feared dead.
