On April 2, President Tinubu departed for Paris, France, on “a short working visit.”

His spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, had said the President while away would appraise his administration’s midterm performance and assess key milestones.

However following criticism from opposition figures when the President had spent over two weeks outside the country amid prevailing insecurity, the Presidency on April 17 explained that the President remained fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe.
