President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be present when the Nigerian Army today Wednesday holds the burial ceremony for 17 officers and men killed-in-action at Okuama Community, Delta State.
They will be interred at the National Cemetery, Abuja.
The burial holds at 3pm.
The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigerian will be attending as the Special Guest of Honour.
This was announced in a statement by Army spokesperson, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Tinubu, like many, has said condemned the killings that took place at Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, and vowed that the perpetrators would be punished.
According to military authorities, the 17 were killed while on a mission to maintain peace between two warring communities: Okuama and Okoloba.
