Toluwanisings Dad Makes Revelations About Late Singer
My name is Muniru Adekunle Olayemi. I am the father of Toluwanisings.
Many people did not know this.
His real name is Sodiq Olayemi Bayonle.
He was born in July 1992 as a Muslim.
He was 6 months old when his mother died.
We were living in Kano then.
I brought her body home for burial.
When we got home, her family asked to check her body properly.
They checked all her body parts.
When they saw everything was intact, they asked me to bury her.
The next day by 10am, they invited me and my family for a meeting.
At that meeting, they begged me.
They said “Release Sodiq to us to comfort us.”
He was the only child his mother had for me.
I agreed out of pain and love.
He stayed with his mother’s family.
They are Christians and they raised him.
We paid his school fees till he finished primary school.
He went to secondary school in Agba.
After secondary school, we wanted to bring him back.
But they relocated with him to Lagos.
He later gained admission to Yaba College of Technology.
His mother was not the first woman who had a child for me.
I had a child while I was in secondary school.
But I did not marry her.
Sodiq’s mother was my first legally married wife.
After her death, I remarried.
Sodiq called me one day.
He asked, “Daddy, do I have step siblings?”
I said yes.
I connected him with them.
They loved each other so much.
Just a day before his death, he called my last born.
He said, “I have a show tomorrow, when I come back we have something important to discuss.”
He tried for me.
He took care of me more than I expected.
He was the one who told me to leave the North and come back home.
He looked after me like a responsible son should.
He pleaded that his son be buried in his family house, not in a cemetery.
Contrary to earlier reports that Toluwanisings was 41 at the time of his passing, his father confirmed he was 34.
