Two sons of the same parents, aged 26 and 23, have drowned on Christmas Day at Ibeshe Beach in Satellite Town area of Lagos.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that detectives visited the scene of the incident and that efforts are being made to find the bodies of the deceased brothers, both from the Adegboyega family.
Reports said the Adegboyega brothers left their home in FESTAC Town to celebrate the Yuletide at the beach with friends.
Police said that the incident happened at about 6.00 p.m. while the brothers were swimming with their friends.Trouble started when visitors to the beach noticed that they were drowning.
Efforts by their friends and local divers to rescue them proved abortive, after which the incident was reported to the police.
He added that the family of the late brothers has since been contacted and informed about the sad incident.
