The world today gathered to bid the final farewell to the Late Ondo State’s Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died in Germany in December after suffering cancer.
In attendance at the events were several dignitaries and governors, including Vice President Kashim Shettima.
After the funeral at St. Andrews Church, Imola Street, Owo, interment followed immediately at the burial site, Owo, Akeredolu’s hometown.
Friends, family, and dignitaries gave heartfelt tributes and fond memories of the Governor and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
Apart from the Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima, state governors, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, turned up for the sombre yet carnival-like event, where Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa played the role of chief host.
The atmosphere was one of both mourning and celebration as speakers recounted Akeredolu’s impactful legacy and contributions to the state and Nigeria in general.
