Gov Sanwo-Olu Writes Lagos Citizens On Turning 61 Today
Lagos State’s Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken up his pen to write a note of gratitude on clocking 61 years old today June 25.
In a Facebook posting, Sanwo-Olu, who has been Governor since 2019, wrote:
“Today, as I celebrate my 61st birthday, my heart is incredibly full.
“For eight of these celebrations, I have had the rare privilege of serving as your Governor. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this extraordinary state and its people. The journey has been demanding, humbling and deeply rewarding.
“Leading a state as dynamic and energetic as Lagos is no small task. It has taught me more about resilience and patience than any other chapter in my life.
“I am filled with gratitude today, gratitude for life, for family, for health and for the enduring trust of Lagosians. Public service has its challenging days but the privilege of building a greater Lagos makes every single moment worth it.
“We have come a long way together yet the work never stops. As I celebrate today, my commitment to you remains as strong as ever. There is still more to do, more to build and more progress to achieve for everyone who calls this great state home.
“Thank you, Lagosians, for walking this path with me.”
He is married to a Medical Doctor Ibijoke Carrena and they have four children together.
Sanwo-Olu became Governor under the platform of the All Progressives Congress after winning the APC gubernatorial primaries against then-incumbent Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
He is a graduate of the University of Lagos, London Business School, Lagos Business School and the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Before his gubernatorial ambition, he was the Managing Director and CEO of Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSDPC).
