Foreigners Now Desperate For Nigerian Passport –Diaspora Commission Boss Erewa
Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Ms Abike Dabiri-Erewa, says her office has received numerous appeals from foreign nationals who are desperate to own her country’s green passport.
She said the volume of requests had become significant, with some applicants asking her office to approach the President on their behalf.
“On my table, you see a lot of people telling us to beg the President to be able to give them Nigerian passports. Ask the Minister of Interior. It’s too much,” she said
Dabiri-Erewa broke the news at a Press briefing in Abuja, on Wednesday, October 21.
She stated that many of these foreigners developed interest in Nigeria while others were considering investments and stronger connections with the country.
According to her, a woman told her team during a recorded interaction that having visited Nigeria, she now had no wish to return to her own country.
