ADC’s Owokoniran Condemns Senator Fadahunsi’s ‘Kill Osun Accord Members’ Order, Demands Respect For Voters’ Rights

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Convener of the Frontliners Movement, Lagos State, Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, has condemned the statement made by Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi at an APC gathering in Ilesa, where the lawmaker told supporters to “kill” Accord Party members.

Fadahunsi was captured on video clips giving the instruction ahead of the Osun governorship election on Saturday.

Owokoniran described the statement as dangerous, unacceptable and capable of undermining peaceful democratic participation, stressing that no political office should confer immunity from responsibility or accountability.

“Elections should be contests of ideas and manifestoes not battles for survival,” he said. “No Nigerians should fear for their safety because of the political party they support.”

He called on the relevant authorities to investigate the matter and ensure that every citizen enjoyed the constitutional freedom to campaign, associate and vote without intimidation or fear.

“Power is temporary, but the rule of law is permanent,” he emphasised.

“No politician owns Nigeria, and no political party has the right to silence citizens.”

Owokoniran urged political leaders to choose persuasion over intimidation, dialogue over threats and democracy over violence, insisting that the people must remain sovereign.
