CIS, MTN Nigeria Forge Partnership To Drive Capital Market Growth
The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) has intensified its engagement with corporate Nigeria, opening discussions with MTN Nigeria on initiatives to deepen investor education, professional development and participation in the Nigerian capital market.

The discussions took place during a high-level engagement between the CIS leadership and MTN Nigeria at the telecommunications company’s head office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The CIS delegation was led by its 1st Vice
President, Dr. Akeem Oyewale, who represented the 14th President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Fiona Nyako Ahmed Ahimie.
The engagement focused on potential areas of collaboration including professional capacity building, financial literacy, investor education, digital transformation and the deployment of initiatives capable of expanding access to and participation in the capital market. The discussions also reflected the growing intersection between technology, financial services and capital-market development.
The CIS delegation comprised the Registrar/Chief Executive, Ayorinde Adeonipekun, Chairman of the Annual Conference Committee, Saheed Bashir, members of the Annual Conference Committee and senior management officials of the Institute.
Receiving the delegation were MTN Nigeria’s Chief Operating Officer, Ayham Moussa; Chief Financial Officer/Executive Director, Modupe Kadri; Executive Company Secretary, Uto Ukpanah, and other senior executives.
The Institute also congratulated MTN Nigeria on its 25th anniversary, acknowledging the company’s contribution to Nigeria’s telecommunications and digital transformation journey. CIS presented an appreciation plaque to MTN Nigeria in recognition of its support and contributions to the Institute’s activities and initiatives.
The CIS team subsequently toured MTN Nigeria’s Y’ello Street Experience, a 25th-anniversary exhibition showcasing the company’s evolution since its commercial launch in Nigeria in 2001 and its role in the transformation of telecommunications and digital connectivity.
The engagement is part of CIS’s broader stakeholder strategy to strengthen relationships with leading institutions and corporates and promote professional excellence, innovation, financial literacy and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s capital market.
